KosmOS 1.8.0
KosmOS is the Operating System running inside the Anagram. It manages real-time audio processing, user interaction, and system control. Built on a modular Linux framework, it hosts effect blocks, neural models, and impulse responses with low latency and precise timing. It provides a unified structure for all Anagram functions—signal routing, control mapping, and content management—while remaining expandable through OS updates and DSP blocks.
To perform a manual firmware update without the requirement of the Suite software, please find the information below:
- Power on the unit
- Click the ⁝ button on the top-right corner of the screen
- Click the About button and then click the Manual Update
- Connect you unit to your computer using a USB-C cable
- Wait for unit to appear as “mass storage device”
- Copy the downloaded tar file to the “mass storage device” (do not extract contents, just copy as-is)
- Safely eject the “mass storage device” from your PC. If using macOS, unplug the USB-C cable (not the power cable!) -
Changelog
- Compressor gain reduction metering inside block settings and on block image
- Compressor threshold adjustments: FET Compressor, BUS Compressor and Compressor / Limiter have been adjusted so that default and minimum achievable compression thresholds are significantly lower than before. This allows stronger compression effects and support for a wider range of signal levels than earlier.
- FET Compressor: Presets saved with earlier OS versions will sound different now. Same Input and Ratio settings will now give more compression / gain reduction.
- BUS Compressor: Biggest change is in the extended Threshold range and new default Threshold. Presets saved with earlier OS versions will sound a bit different now. Same Threshold and Ratio settings will now give a slightly different amount of compression / gain reduction because of new fine tuning.
- Compressor / Limiter: Presets saved with earlier OS versions will sound the same. Only Threshold default value and range have been adjusted for lower signal levels / thresholds.
- Block input and output level metering in block settings
- Signal chain zoomed-out view
- Block Bypass toggle has a new look and moved to the topbar when selecting a parameter for binding
- Differentiation of Inactive and Blocked parameters
- Inactive: currently ineffective/inaudible. The parameter can still be edited.
- Blocked: cannot be used currently.
- Fixes to handling both
- Improvements
- Bluetooth reliability
- Overall system performance
- Other improvements and bugfixes
